One dead as vehicle smashed into parked trailer in Mississauga

One person is dead after a vehicle struck a trailer late Wednesday afternoon in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police said a UPS delivery truck hit a parked cargo trailer in the parking lot of the Westport Business Complex on Tomken Road, close to Courtney Park Drive East shortly before 5 p.m.

The driver of the delivery truck was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police were notified around 4:47 p.m. of the collision.

The Major Collision Bureau was on the scene investigating earlier tonight and are looking at surveillance footage in the area to see if they can determine what led up to the crash.
