A Toronto woman has been charged and an Oshawa man remains wanted by police in two separate fraud cases this spring.
Alicia Dawn Miller, 41, has been charged with fraud, uttering forged documents and possessing identity document of another after Durham Police said she tried to open a bank account using a fraudulent driver’s license at a Scotiabank location on Highway 2 in Bowmanville on May 28.
Officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody. The suspect had reportedly attempted to open an account at a different bank earlier that morning, using fraudulent identification, but was refused, police said.
She was released on an Undertaking.

Police have also issued a warrant for a man who attempted to use counterfeit currency to make purchases at the Oshawa Centre back on March 20.
Officers responded to a fraud call at the Oshawa mall after the suspect visited several businesses and attempted to use fraudulent currency to purchase items. Mall security attempted to stop the suspect but he escaped on foot.
Investigators have since identified the suspect and have issued a warrant for Liam Dylan Bramley-Montgomery, 39, on charges of three counts of fraud, three counts of using counterfeit cash and breach of probation.
