One charged following child sex assault allegation in St. Catharines

A person has been charged following an allegation of a sexual assault against a child outside a St. Catharines pizza restaurant.
Earlier in December Niagara Regional Police and their Child Abuse Unit launched an investigation into the alleged assault that occurred Vine St. and Old Pine Tr.
On December 16, they arrested Reun Buth, 48 of St. Catharines, on charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
Investigators believe this is an isolated incident between Buth and the victim. Buth remains in custody pending a bail hearing and will appear in court on December 17.
The allegations against Buth have not been proven in court.
