It’s been physically ready to rock since 2020 but the new 5,000-seat entertainment centre at Fallsview Casino Resort has been missing a couple of things.

The centre needed a revamp of their acoustics, which the owners, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and MGE Niagara Entertainment Inc. (Mohegan), were not happy about, saying the $140 million facility had to be “performance-ready” for the top-tier acts it hopes to attract.

Also, it needed a name. Today (August 31), they announced one and they didn’t have to stray too far. The new entertainment centre will be called the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino.

“OLG is thrilled to have partnered with Mohegan on this agreement, to enhance the entertainment experience for residents and the growing number of visitors to the Niagara region,” says Duncan Hannay, OLG’s President and CEO.

“The team at OLG is very proud to have provided leadership on the development of this spectacular new facility and we believe OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino is another great demonstration of OLG’s purpose to ‘Play for Ontario’.”

Since it opened in June 2004, Fallsview has relied on their Avalon Theatre as a stage for performers. Its only short-coming has been it 1,500 seat capacity. The Avalon will remain as the intimate-setting on-site theatre.

Both the OLG and MGE believe the largest venue will bring bigger acts.

Cathy Price, Vice President of Marketing for Niagara Casinos, said that’s what the new stage would attract. “From old time rock ‘n roll to new-age acts and gut-busting comics, the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino is going to be the jewel of Niagara’s entertainment scene.”

The OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino will also offer food and beverage options and is directly connected to Fallsview Casino Resort through a new glass enclosed corridor to allow for easy access for all attending the upcoming shows.
