An Odd Burger that is “good for people and the planet” is coming to Oakville.

The vegan fast food restaurant chain is set to open a new location this spring at the Dorval Crossing West Shopping Centre, located at 270 North Service Rd.

Odd Burger says its not just here to make food, they’re here to change the world.

“Our mission is to disrupt the fast-food industry by offering delicious food made from scratch using plant-based, minimally processed and sustainable ingredients that are good for people and the planet,” said Odd Burger on its website.

James McInnes founded the grass roots vegan organization in 2014, bringing organic fruit and vegetables from local farmers to customers.

Along with Vasiliki McInnes, the couple brought their “Famous Burger” to the London, Ontario Ribfest where it sold out.

Shortly after they launched a vegan fast food truck, and then opened Canada’s first vegan fast-food restaurant in 2017.

Odd Burger would open its own manufacturing centre in 2018, where the food is produced and research and development takes place.

“We are fulfilling this mission by developing advance automation technology, large scale plant-based food manufacturing facilities and a vertically integrated, locally sourced supply chain,” said the organization.

As well as the Famous Burger, vegan burgers on the menu include the Vopper, BackUn Famous Melt, Preposterous Burger and even the Pulled Jack, which features “pulled pork like you’ve never had before.”

Complete your meal with fries, onion rings, mac and cheese, salad or classic poutine on the side. Wash it down with a chocolate, strawberry or vanilla shake.

Desserts include peppermint Nanaimo bars, strawberry sundae, S’Mores cookie or the Oddanado, made of cookie pieces with their creamy vegan soft-serve.

Odd Burger also has locations in Brampton, Hamilton, London, Waterloo, Windsor, Toronto, Vaughan and Windsor.

As well as Oakville, other new locations soon to open include Vancouver, Victoria and Surrey, Ottawa and Edmonton.
