April 9 weather: Showers and high of 18 C in southern Ontario

Residents in Mississauga and southern Ontario get a wet start to the day on Tuesday (Oct. 29).

Showers are expected to begin in the morning and end in the afternoon, according to the latest weather forecast by Environment Canada.

There will be mainly cloudy skies in the early part of the day, with the risk of a late morning thunderstorm. Wind will become south at 20 km/h and gust up to 40 km/h in the morning.

The high for the day will be 18 C. The UV index will be 1 or low.

Skies will begin to clear in the evening. Temperatures will remain steady overnight at 16 C.

Daylight time is down to 10 hours and 24 minutes on Tuesday. The sun will rise at 7:50 a.m. and set at 6:14 p.m.
