It’s a taste of Portugal right here in Oakville.

The family owned and operated Portuguese Rotisserie and Grill, located at 2530 Sixth Line in Unit 6, has drawn a following for its Peri Peri chicken, rice and potato dinners, but the variety of traditional Portuguese dishes will keep you coming back.

There’s a little something for all Portuguese cuisine lovers or just food lovers in general looking to tantalize their taste buds with well known recipes made for centuries in the small European country.

Traditional Portuguese fish dinners include Cod with oven baked potatoes or in a cream sauce, pan fried stickleback, fish fillets and even octopus stew.

Comfort favourite dishes like the fava bean stew with Portuguese sausage, pea stew with poached egg and Portuguese sausage or the Feijoada Com Debrada (pork, beans and tribe) will make you feel right at home.

Try a fried pork belly or beef sandwich loaded with peppers and onions or if it’s soup you crave the popular caldo verde will warm your tummy.

Their popular pork grinds are so good it’s hard to just stop at a couple.

“Everything is made with the same love and care that is put into all the dishes made back in Portugal,” co-owner Rui Pereira said of the traditionally prepared meals. “A taste of Portugal right here in Oakville.”
