Oakville’s Douglas inks pro contract with Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Oakville native Curtis Douglas.

The 22-year-old forward, previously a fourth-round pick (106 overall) of the Dallas Stars in 2018, signed a two-year entry-level deal with the Leafs at an average annual value of $837,500.

The six-foot-eight, 249-pound Douglas has eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points in 49 games this sea with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

The winger has also suited up with the Belleville Senator and has nine goals and 31 points in 60 career AHL games.

Douglas was fourth-round pick (76 overall) of the Barrie Colts in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection and recorded 11 goals and 27 points before being traded in his second season to the Windsor Spitfires.

He would finish out his junior career with the Spitfires, collecting 72 goals and 141 points over 166 games in Windsor.
