UPDATE: Oakville woman missing for six weeks found

A 27-year-old Oakville woman has been missing for six weeks has been found.

Kaitlyn Simmonds, 27, of Oakville was last seen on foot in late June in Grimsby. Halton Regional Police were reaching out to the public for help but around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 they announced she had been found.

“The Halton Regional Police Service is please to announce that Kaitlyn Simmonds of Oakville has been located safe and sound,” police Tweeted. “Thank-you to all the community members for their help in this incident.”

A person can be reported missing at any time, there is no 24-hour waiting period. If you are concerned for someone’s immediate safety, call 9-1-1. Otherwise, you can report a person as missing to the Halton Regional Police Service by calling the non-emergency number 905-825-4777.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
