Oakville teen struck by car now stable in Hamilton hospital

An Oakville teenager struck by car Sunday is in stable condition after being taken to a Hamilton Hospital with life threatening injuries.

At 3:45 p.m., Halton Regional Police were notified of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Rebecca St. and Brock St.

Police discovered the 17-year-old female was crossing Rebecca St. from the north side to the south in the pedestrian crossover on the east side of the intersection when she was hit by a westbound car.

The 28-year-old driver of the car, also from Oakville, remained on the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.

The teenager was transported to Hamilton General Hospital with initially life threatening injuries, but is now in stable condition.

The area on Rebecca St. the incident occurred was closed for some three hours while police investigated.
