The Town of Oakville is seeking input from the public and local businesses on current noise regulations.

They are asking they complete a short online survey before April 15 in an effort to help Town staff develop recommendation’s to Oakville’s noise by-law.

Results from the survey will be used to construct regulations that aim to balance noise from most activities in a way that respects everyone’s right to an enjoyable community and peaceful lifestyle.

The Town is also hosting an in-person public information meeting in the South Atrium of Town Hall on Thursday, April 14 at 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“I encourage residents to take the town’s five-minute online survey or drop by our in-person public information night on April 14 to provide feedback that will help update noise regulations in Oakville,” said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton.

“Our goal is to improve the noise by-law to ensure that Oakville continues to be a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable community for all our residents.”

The online survey, which takes approximately five minutes to complete, will be strictly confidential and anonymous.

Residents will also be able to provide an email address should they choose to receive updates on the review.

Town staff will be on hand at the public meeting to provide information on the current noise standards, outdated and/or unclear teams and definitions within the noise by-law or other topics relating to noise in the community.

Changes to the noise by-law will be presented for Council’s approval later this year.

Residents can go here to take the short online survey.

Local residents can also send their comments by email [email protected].
