They were off to the races this weekend on William Halton Pkwy. in Oakville.

Halton Regional Police were kept busy all weekend near Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital reeling in five speeding drivers with a heavy foot.

On Saturday (April 15), an Oakville District Response officer pulled over two separate vehicles within two hours of each other for excessive speeding.

William Halton Pkwy. has a speed limit of 60km/h and the one driver was nailed doing 121 km/h and the other 111 km/h.

On Sunday (April 16), three more drivers were pulled over for speeding on the same road. One driver was doing 132 km/h, another 112 km/h and the other 110 km/h.

“Town roads are not to be confused with a racetrack,” said Halton Regional Police on Twitter.

All five drivers have been charged with stunt driving for their excessive speeds and had their cars towed.

They also will all now be required to attend court and have had their licenses suspended for 30 days.
