10 emergencies to be prepared for in Brampton

Through an online tool on the Town of Oakville’s website, residents are able to track the snow-clearing progress during heavy snowfalls.

During snow storms, the progress of roadway clearing operations can be tracked with Oakville’s Winter Plow Map.

Through the online map, residents will be able to watch as snow-clearing efforts start with main and secondary roadways and move to residential roadways if there is accumulation.

The Town plows residential streets after 7.5 centimetres of snow has accumulated.

Residents are reminded that primary and secondary roads are cleared first when the snow begins to build. This is done to ensure that local residents and emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks can travel safely after a snowfall.

All streets that need plowing are cleared within 24 hours though heavy storms may extend this period.

Aside from the Town’s winter plow map, residents may also call the information line at 905-815-5999 to find out more about what roads have been plowed.
