The next step in the remaking of a pair of Oakville neighbourhoods is reaching out to local residents.

Public information meetings are being held for both the Kerr Village and Bronte Village plans to increase vibrancy for residents, visitors and businesses.

The town would like to hear about opportunities to improve the public spaces and boulevards of the main shopping streets within the project areas. Improvements to the physical environments include street trees, lighting, places for gathering, street furniture, public art, wayfinding and more.

The sessions will begin with a presentation on the project, followed by small group discussions where people will be invited to share comments and ideas on the project materials. Pre-registration is not required and both sessions are identical, so you can attend one or both.

The Bronte Village-focused meetings are Wednesday, June 26, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Church of the Epiphany, 141 Bronte Rd., and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Walton Memorial United Church, 2489 Lakeshore Rd. W.

The Kerr Village-focused meetings are Thursday, June 27, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre, 325 Reynolds St., and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Trafalgar Park Community Centre, 133 Rebecca St.

Input collected will help shape the public realm and streetscape enhancements, which will be shared this fall for public feedback.
