Oakville neighbourhood relieved after home drug selling operation busted

Residents of an Oakville neighbourhood say they are relieved after police busted up what they say was a drug trafficking ring operating out of home.

Those who lived in the area say that ongoing activity at the home made them fearful for their safety and was turning the quiet neighbourhood near Sheridan College into a scary place.

“It was bad,” said one resident who did not want his name released publicly. “There were a lot of shady characters coming and going from that place. Hopefully things can get back to normal around here.”

Halton Regional Police say a search warrant carried out at the home in the White Oaks Blvd. and Litchfield Rd. area on Wednesday (April 6) has lead to several arrests.

Joshua Lindo (27) of Oakville was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possess cannabis for the purpose of distributing
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of oxycontin for the purpose of trafficking

Eric Hyman (32) of Oakville was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possess cannabis for the purpose of distributing
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Tampering with a serial number on a firearm
  • Careless storage of ammunition
  • Possession of a firearm knowing It’s possession is unauthorized
  • Contravention of storage regulations
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized:

  • 1 sawed-off shotgun
  • 1 replica handgun
  • Ammunition
  • 1 Taser
  • Approximately 100 grams of cocaine
  • 5 kilograms of marijuana
  • Bottle of oxycodone
  • $35, 000 in Canadian currency
  • Jewelry
  • Various drug trafficking items
