The Oakville and Milton Humane Society is reminding local residents they are there if people can’t afford to provide for their pets.

The local humane society made the appeal after receiving three malnourished dogs this past week that were in ‘terrible condition.’

One, an older female dog, was found on Kerr St. She is undersocialized, diabetic, blind in one eye and extremely underweight.

The other two, younger dogs, were found at Maplegrove Plaza. They were also both malnourished and undersocialized.

“OMHS is a resource for anyone who cannot afford to provide care for their pets,” said Stephanie Aleksich, OMHS Manager of Animal Protective Services.

“If you can’t afford to care for your pet, we can help. It’s heart-wrenching to see animals like this in our community, and we encourage people to reach out before it gets to this point.”

Anyone with any information on these malnourished dogs is asked to call the OMHS at 905-845-1551 or email [email protected].

The OHMS relies 100 per cent on donations from the community to protect the most vulnerable animals in our community.

Contributions help them provide food, shelter, medical care, and other essential services to animals in need.

As part of the OHMS’ Mission Pawsible Campaign, all donations will be matched by A1 Air Conditioning & Heating (up to $2500) until the end of today (June 10).
