For Oakville’s Cansel Aslan, his fiancée and their son come first when it comes time to spending his new lottery winnings.

The self employed father is $50,335.40 richer after winning second prize in the October 30, 2021 Lotto 6/49 draw.

Aslan plans to save his winnings to buy a home and look after his family.

“I would like to treat our little one to some stuff and splurge to treat my family to a staycation somewhere in Ontario,” he said.

Aslan immediately shared the good news with his fiancée, sending her a photo of his big win.

“She was with our little one at the time, so I called her,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “She was so happy and excited.”

The Oakville man purchased his winning ticket at the Circle K on Highway 7 in Woodbridge.

“This is my first big win,” he said. “I started playing the lottery regularly last year and I’ve been sticking with Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49.”

Aslan was shopping for groceries when he decided to check his tickets.

“I saw the prize amount on the screen, and I couldn’t believe it,” he said while smiling. “I must have checked it four times. I was excited and nervous at the same time.”

Lotto 6/49 players in Ontario have won over $13.4 billion in prizes since 1982, including 1,410 jackpot wins and 391 Guaranteed $1 Million Prize draws. Lotto 6/49 is $3 per play and draws take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
