The Town of Oakville is looking for people to work the Municipal Election being held this October.

Residents 16 years and older can apply for paid positions to help support advance voting during October 6-9 and 11-15, and on day of the vote on October 24.

Prior election experience is not needed for most roles, with the Town providing all the necessary training.

Election workers depending on the role, could be assigned to several functions such as general information and customer service, voter verification, ballot issuing and location supervision.

Compensation is based on the position.

Working the election offers Canadian citizens, long-time residents and retirees a meaningful way to support their community.

For youth, it offers an ideal opportunity to build their resumes.

The positions are also open to new residents who are legally eligible to work even if they may not be eligible to vote yet.

All voting locations are physically accessible, and the Town welcomes individuals of all abilities to apply. Residents who speak multiple languages in addition to being fluent in English are also welcome to apply; their linguistic skills will be valuable in connecting with and supporting voters.

More information on the employment opportunities is available at elections.oakville.ca.

Those interested can now apply online on the election website elections.oakville.ca. Online applications will remain open until all positions are filled.
