Oakville house one of the most expensive properties sold in Ontario last month

While Oakville is known as one of the more expensive municipalities in Ontario, one house sold for well over the average price of $1,575,436 last month.
According to real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa, the Oakville property–located at 2100 Gatestone Ave–sold for $3,600,000 after being listed for $3,798,000. The average price of a detached home in Oakville was $2,209,270 as of February 2024.
Other homes that made the list include a very traditionally decorated home with a “two-storey, ballroom-sized great room” in Toronto, an elegant three-storey home with classic touches near Casa Loma and a remodelled home in Markham’s prestigious Cachet Estates neighbourhood.
The list also features some of the most affordable homes to change hands, with houses in Hamilton, Oshawa and London selling for less than $400,000.
The spacious family home in southeast Oakville boasts a sleek and updated interior and features three bedrooms, four bathrooms and up to 5,000 square feet of living space.

According to the listing, the Maple Grove Road and Lakeshore Road-area house is at least 50 years old and offers an open-concept layout, a gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances and a large island, a formal dining room, an elegant master bedroom with vaulted ceilings and custom closets, a finished basement and a wine cellar.
The backyard is well-landscaped and boasts multiple patios, an in-ground saltwater pool and a putting green.
The home, which offers parking for up to six vehicles, is also close to top-rated schools.
