The awards keep piling up for Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

EllisDon Facilities Services at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Halton Healthcare have been awarded the 2021 National Earth Award – Health Care Facility section.

The recognition comes after the local hospital was presented earlier this year with the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Toronto Best Gold Standard.

The BOMA Canada Earth Awards recognize excellence in resource preservation and environmentally sound commercial building management.

Only those who are BOMA Best Certified are eligible for both the Earth and The Outstanding Building of the Year Awards.

Construction of the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital facility involved the construction of approximately 1.5 million sq. ft. on a 50-acre greenfield parcel of land located at Dundas St. and Third Line.

EllisDon was the majority partner of the construction Joint Venture to build the acute care hospital. It has a capacity of 457 beds and includes four main sections.

New departments in the hospital include acute inpatient care, maternal child care, renal dialysis, complex continuing care, rehabilitation, inpatient and outpatient adult, child and adolescent mental health, secondary and tertiary level programs.

There are also family rooms, lounges, shower facilities, kitchenettes, and retail services.
