Oakville health food store’s future in question as chain up for sale

Health food lovers in Oakville could have one less place to shop locally.

Organic Garage, the Toronto-based food chain which offers its customers “healthy food for less,” is pursuing a court-approved sale of its four grocery stores, including its Oakville location at 579 Kerr St.

The four stores located in Toronto, Thornhill and Oakville could be sold or even shut down and reopened under a new brand.

The affordable grocery store offers the usual healthy food options, including meat, natural produce and prepared meals.

Oragin Foods, the parent company of the Organic Garage, filed for bankruptcy in March of this year.
