Oakville grocery store employee tests positive for COVID-19

An employee at an Oakville grocery store has been infected with COVID-19.

Halton Public Health has been notified of the positive case at Longo’s, located at 469 Cornwall Rd.

The COVID-19 infection was made public on Oct. 18. The last day of work for the employee at the Longo’s store was Oct. 9.

“Doing the right thing is part of the very fabric of our company. As a family-operated business, the well-being of our team members and our guests is our number one priority,” Longo’s president and CEO Anthony Longo said in an online statement.

“I want to personally emphasize that COVID-19 has our full, undivided attention. We continue to monitor the situation closely and remain committed to ensuring every family has access to fresh food and essentials, especially in times of uncertainty, while keeping everyone safe and healthy.”
