Summer has arrived in Oakville and so have the “mouth-watering” ribs.

The Oakville Family Ribfest returns once again as a drive-thru event at the Trafalgar Road Campus of Sheridan College on June 24-26.

The popular community event and fundraiser organized by the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar is celebrating its 10th anniversary and will once again feature tasty BBQ ribs, chicken, pulled pork and more.

This year’s Ribbers include Crazy Canuck Smokers BBQ Specialists, Gator BBQ, Brick BBQ Yard and Route 55 BBQ.

Food vendors this year include roasted sweet corn on the cob from Ontario Corn Roasters and ice cream from Donkey Kone.

Once again, every dollar raised from Ribfest goes to support the Rotary Club’s projects to help those in need here and internationally.

Money raised has funded local hunger relief programs through Kerr Street Mission, Fareshare Foodbank and Food for Life.

Programs that are so needed in the community with rising inflation have a severe effect on food prices.

“With Rotary there are no administration fees, so 100 per cent of the net proceeds are put to work,” the local club said on the Ribfest website.

This year’s event kicks off at noon through 8 p.m. on Friday, June 24 and continues Saturday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and then wraps up on Sunday, June 26 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This a drive-thru event and no walk-ins will be served.
