Oakville’s sauciest event is back.

The Oakville Family Ribfest returns as a drive-thru event this year on August 20-22 at the Sheridan College Oakville Campus.

Enjoy some “mouth-watering” ribs and help the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar raise money for numerous community projects.

After last year’s event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event will be a drive-thru. No walk-ins will be served.

“This spectacular event brings families and individuals together to celebrate and to have fun,” Oakville Ribfest co-chairs Ken Coulter and Bent Fink-Jensen said in a statement on the ribfest website. “There is something for everyone of all ages to enjoy.”

Attendees will once again be able to dig into award-winning BBQ ribs, chicken, pulled pork and more.

This year’s ribbers include Crazy Canuck Smokers BBQ specialists, Route 55 BBQ, Brick BBQ Yard and Gator BBQ.

Other vendors on site at “Oakville’s largest outdoor event” also include Tiny Tom Donuts and Ontario Corn Roasters.

A total 100 per cent of the money raised during the charity event will go towards helping various projects in the community.

The funds will help groups such as the Women’s Centre of Halton, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton Halton, Lung Association, Oakville Parent-Child Centre, Kerr Street Mission and Oakville Meals on Wheels as well as many others.

“We are so grateful for the support we have received from our sponsors, elected officials and our community partners during the planning of this year’s Ribfest,” co-chairs Ken Coulter and Bent Fink-Jensen said.

The three-day event starts on Friday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
