Oakville drivers getting a head start on holiday weekend will want to avoid these highway delays

Oakville drivers looking to hit the highways overnight and get a head start on their travelling this holiday weekend can expect delays.

The Ministry of Transportation is alerting drivers to expect significant lane closures and regular delays from approximately 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. due to construction on both local highways beginning Wednesday night (June 29) through Canada Day (July 1).

Ongoing construction on the QEW from West of Trafalgar Road to East of Winston Churchill Blvd and Upper Middle Road over Highway 403, from east of Ford Drive to west of Winston Churchill Boulevard, will result in several lane closures and delays.
