Oakville driver caught doing 188 km/hr

An Oakville driver has been charged for driving twice the speed limit in cottage country.

An Oakville driver has been charged for driving twice the speed limit in cottage country.

According to Bracebridge OPP, an officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 11 just south of Gravenhurst around 11 p.m. on Sept. 16.

The officer’s radar clocked the driver going 188 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone.

According to the officer the motorist approached “at a high rate of speed.”

A 26-year-old Oakville man has since been charged with stunt driving. His name has not been released.

His licence was subsequently suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded, added police.
