The drive into work for Burlington and Oakville residents Friday morning could be a messy one.

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Burlington and Oakville for Thursday night into Friday morning.

Heavy snow is expected to fall at times with accumulations of 10 to 15 cm expected.

Environment Canada says a developing low pressure centre will bring a swath of snow to the region late this evening through Friday morning.

The Friday morning will likely be impacted due to snow falling heavy at times.
Blowing snow could make driving difficult.

“Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly,” Environment Canada said in its weather statement. “Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
