Oakville apartment fire sends three to hospital

An early Monday morning fire in an Oakville apartment resulted in at least five people being transported to a local hospital with smoke inhalation.
The fire broke out on the fourth floor of Lakeside Apartments located on Ontario St. at around 5:30 a.m. this morning.
The five people who suffered smoke inhalation were taken to the hospital by Halton Region Paramedics. Firefighters on the scene helped occupants evacuate the building safely.
Investigators remain on the scene and cause of the blaze is still under investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office.
