A noisy machine was music to the ears for a Brampton lottery player.

Joseph Caissie, 60, said he bought his Daily Keno ticket while picking up a magazine for his wife at City Convenience on Main St. in Brampton.

When he checked his ticket for the January 15 draw he found that six of the last seven Encore numbers matched in the exact order. The result was a win of $100,000.

“I didn’t believe it. I didn’t want to get excited over nothing, so I went right to the store and scanned it about three times to be sure,” Caissie said in disbelief. “The machine made noises I’ve never heard before. It was exciting!”

The construction worker said he will use his winnings as an opportunity to retire in the winter months, “But I may go back to work in the summer,” he added.

Encore can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1 and a draw is held every day, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
