Police in Peel have made arrests in a Mississauga double-murder case that goes back more than two years.

On December 28, 2019 two men, Maxwell Charles, 44, and Jamal Holder, 29, died as a result of stab wounds suffered during a fight at an apartment complex on Gen Erin Dr. and The Collegeway.

At the time Peel Police indicated an altercation took place between the two men and that no other suspects were sought.

However, police have now charged a man and a woman in connection with the case.

On May 5 investigators arrested 22-year-old Uneek Charles of Dundalk and charged him with two counts of second degree murder.

As well, today, 45-year-old Sandra Pereira of Dundalk was charged with two counts of accessory to murder after the fact.

Both were held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Police are continuing their investigation into this case and ask anyone with information or camera footage to contact them at 905-453-2121 ext. 3205. Anonymous information may also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting peelcrimestoppers.ca.
