When the Niagara Student Transportation Service announced yesterday afternoon (Feb. 22) that they were proactively canceling all school buses today, it was left to the two school boards to decide whether or not to closes their schools.

Both the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) and Niagara Catholic District School Board (NCDSB), knowing there was no transportation and that the roads were slick after last night’s ice-storm, made the call at 6 am, both declaring Snow Days.

“Good morning. From the Niagara Catholic Storm Desk – all schools and sites are closed today (February 23),” posted the NCDSB.

“All childcares are closed, and Community Use permits are cancelled. If you must drive this morning, please be safe and we’ll see everyone back tomorrow.”
