It appears that firefighters from a few municipalities had to join in, quelling a blaze at the Regional Recycling warehouse in Thorold.

The fire was first reported at 3 pm today (March 21) at the 1786 Allanport Rd. facility. It is suspected the blaze began in the cardboard section of the warehouse.

While neither the fire or police have reported on the fire just yet, it’s believed the building was safely evacuated.

Because the facility isn’t on city water, numerous water tankers were requested to help with the blaze.

While several photos from local bystanders make it look like the fire was extinguished, there has been no official report yet.
