It'll be Canada vs Finland in a pre-tourney game for the IIHF Women's Championships in Niagara Falls on April 1 at the Gale Centre.

With the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championship slated to start on April 5 in Brampton, organizers have released dates for seven pre-tournament games in six different communities.

Those pre-tournament games from March 29 to April 2 will featured all 10 teams competing and one of those games – Canada vs. Finland – will hit the ice at Gale Centre in Niagara Falls on April 1 at 7 pm.

“The pre-tournament games provide a great opportunity to share our love of hockey and Canadian hospitality by welcoming these exceptional athletes to Ontario,” said Fran Rider, president and chief executive officer of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association.

“Games will be exciting, provide inspiration to young girls and others in the various communities and will support the growth and development of the game at local levels.”

Niagara hockey fans interested in padding the seats at the Niagara Falls’ Canada vs. Finland game can purchase tickets at Gale Centre’s Box Office in advance for $20 per ticket all in.
