No trains from Pickering GO station this weekend

There will be no GO Transit service – bus or train – between Pickering GO and Union Station this weekend.

Local transit options on the TTC will still be available and commuters can also grab a replacement express GO bus at the Oshawa GO station, Whitby GO, Ajax GO and Pickering GO for connections to Union Station.

The service closure, which will last until first train Monday morning, is for planned maintenance and infrastructure updates. “We know you’re busy,” Metrolinx said in a statement, “and so are we.”

The work may be adjusted, rescheduled, or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Check back here and plan your trip accordingly. You can also use Triplinx.ca to learn about travel options on local transit agencies that connect to and from GO Transit.

Another issue travellers in Durham will face this weekend is at the Whitby GO station, where a portion of the west parking lot will be closed off from late evening on Friday until the end of the service day on Sunday.

This area will be used to store construction equipment for the maintenance work being performed this weekend.

“Thank you for your patience,” Metrolinx said, “as we work to improve your service.”
