While it’s not likely you will get unanimous agreement from the residents of Durham Region, there are no Durham streets on CAA’s annual Worst Roads of Ontario list for the third year in a row.

In 2019 Carnegie Road in Scugog ranked ninth on the list, which was headed up that year by Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto (which is still under construction today). Roads in Durham Region have been absent from the list since.

This year Eglinton was ranked #2 on the list, with Barton Street in Hamilton (#5 in 2019) taking top honours. The rest of the list includes:

  1. Barker Street, Prince Edward County
    4. County Road 49, Prince Edward County
    5. Carling Avenue, Ottawa
    6. Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto
    7. Lake Shore Boulevard East, Toronto
    8. Finch Avenue West, Toronto
    9. Bronson Avenue, Ottawa
    10. Queen Street, Kingston

CAA also breaks down the list by sub-region and Durham, lumped in with Peel and Halton, didn’t have a street in the top 5 there either, with Mississauga – led by Hurontario Street – taking four of those spots. Burnhamthorpe Rd. W. in Brampton had the other street.

Bloor Street in Oshawa did make the list in 2015 as the worst road in the GTA.
