Nine more flights with confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported at Pearson Airport recently, including domestic and international flights.

From January 26 to 31, it’s reported that six domestic flights departed or arrived at Pearson with cases of the virus.

One international flight departed and two arrived at the airport between January 28 and 31.

A number of rows were affected on each flight.

According to the federal government, a row is considered affected if it’s three rows behind or in front of a row where a seated person is confirmed to have COVID-19 “during a period when they may have been infectious to others.”

Passengers who were sitting in the affected rows (or all passengers on the flight if rows aren’t specified) are advised to self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and contact public health if they start showing symptoms of the virus.

Residents are reminded to quarantine for 14 days after returning to Canada from travel abroad.

The federal government recently announced that travellers arriving at Pearson will be forced to quarantine at their own expense at local hotels under new plans to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also said the government is joining with major Canadian airlines to ban travel to the Caribbean and Mexico at least until the end of April.

Trudeau said the new measures are an expansion of existing ones, which he says already ban foreign travellers except those who are involved in essential services.

All flight data is listed on the federal government’s website.
