The Town of Milton will be adding nine additional community safety zones this year.

These zones are areas in which residents need to move carefully, such as near schools, daycares, playgrounds, parks and hospitals to keep everyone safe.

Due to these areas requiring extra caution while driving, fines for speeding or related offences are doubled.

Community safety zones have signs clearly posted at the start and end of the zone.

Currently, the Town has five which are located at Campbell Ave. between Guelph Line and east of Wheelihan Way, Main St. at Bishop Reding High School, Ontario St. north of Laurier Ave. and north of Main St., Woodward Ave. between Maple Ave. and Lorne Scott Dr. and Wilson Ave. north of Woodward Ave. south of Mackenzie Dr.

In 2022, the new community safety zones will be established in areas throughout Milton in order to help improve road safety.

When implemented, these future zones will be listed on the Town of Milton’s website.
