Customers drove into the Burloak Centre in Oakville and parked their cars in the lot in front of the Nike Factory Store.

It was only when they got out and were almost at the doors did they realize the shoe and apparel store was closed. Only after reading the sign posted on the front door, did they realize the it was permanently closed.

“Nike Burloak is permanently closed. Sorry for the inconvenience,” read the sign taped to the glass.

Tom Huang appeared in disbelief. He was almost at the door before he realized.

“I can’t believe it,” he said, clearly in shock. “I came here a lot. I never thought this location would close.”

Huang was looking to get some tennis shoes at the store located at 3509 Wyecroft Rd. (Building J).

“I still have a couple of pairs, but I wanted some new ones,” he said. “Guess I will have to look elsewhere now.”

The chain retailer sells a range of Nike athletic footwear, apparel and accessories.

Other Nike Factory Store locations include Halton Hills, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Kitchener, Cookstown and London.
