Niagara Region top doc warns: Get vaccinated or get Delta variant

As Niagara Health reported that every existing case of COVID-19 (147 in total) in Niagara Region is the Delta variant, Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr Mustafa Hirji is issuing a warning.
Get vaccinated or there’s a very good chance Delta will get you.
One day ago, a Niagara Health official referred to the fourth COVID-19 wave as “the wave of the unvaccinated” and Hirji agreed wholeheartedly.
“Cases are mostly in the unvaccinated. As cases go up, hospitalizations will go up,” said Hirji. “There’s nothing protecting them from hospitalization and the Delta variant makes it more likely that they will be hospitalized.”
“Unvaxxed people (28 per cent of the Niagara population) will either get COVID-19 or need to choose (the vaccine.)”
Right now, 83 per cent of all COVID-19 patients in the UCI are unvaccinated. While single-dose or fully vaccinated can also land in the hospital, people are 50 times more likely if they are unvaccinated.
