Niagara Region sees three new COVID-19 cases today

For the second day in a row, Niagara Region saw three new cases of COVID-19 today (August 9).

However, the region dropped from 55 active cases yesterday to just 50 today so that number is seeing improvement.

While 57.1 per cent of the existing cases are listed as “likely” the Delta variant, the remaining percentage is split equally three-ways between Alpha, Beta/Gamma and “unknown.”

St Catharines continues to have the highest number of active cases at 10 active cases followed by Niagara Falls with seven and Grimsby with six.

Wainfleet remains the only municipality within Niagara reporting zero cases.
