The Niagara Regional Police Service were active in the town of Lincoln and cities of Niagara Falls and Welland on Saturday (May 21) conducting RIDE checkpoints.

Police say they stopped approximately 300 vehicles in total, resulting in 24 drivers providing a roadside breath sample.

Out of those 24, four individuals’ breath sample resulted in an “alert”, and they subsequently had their license suspended for three days.

Three other drivers were also issued tickets for operating their vehicles without a valid driver’s license.

Police remind motorists to not drive impaired as Canada Road Safety Week comes to an end today (May 23).
