While Niagara Health has been slowly easing up restrictions around visiting patients in the region’s hospital, so far children have been left off the guest list.
As of today (August 13), children over the age of six will be allowed to visit family members in the hospital.
“This visitor update is part of our careful and gradual recovery efforts and will help increase family presence in the hospital,” said Niagara Health in a release.
They added that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and everyone entering the hospital – including those who have been vaccinated – must pass COVID-19 screening, wear a mask, practice hand hygiene and physical distance when possible.
