Niagara region has sixth highest COVID-19 positivity in Ontario for third week in a row

For the third week in a row, Niagara region has the sixth worst COVID-19 positivity in Ontario, higher than the province overall.
Toronto-based research group ICES ranked all 34 public health units in Ontario based on their percent positivity (percentage of positive tests in the area) for the week of Oct. 31 to Nov. 6.
Niagara is once again listed sixth at 3.59% (up 1.04% from the previous week) while Ontario overall is listed 16th at 1.94%.
Five neighbourhoods in the region were among the highest for COVID-19 positivity in Ontario.
For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of Oct. 31 was 1.9%, up 0.3% from the previous week, according to Toronto-based research group ICES.
One-dose vaccine coverage rose to 85% by the end of October, and 82% of residents 12+ are fully vaccinated.
