Niagara Region has 10 new COVID-19 cases today but adds one death last night

There were 10 new COVID-19 cases today in Niagara Region but with 17 cases resolved, the region’s active caseload had dropped to 122 – the lowest it’s been since July.

However, sadly, Niagara Health said another patient died last night. So far, 435 Niagara residents have died since the pandemic began in March 2020.

St Catharines continues to lead the number of cases with 51 active (42 per cent of all Niagara cases) followed by Niagara Falls with 17 and Grimsby at 16.

The remaining nine municipalities range from zero cases in Pelham up to nine cases in Welland.

At the moment, 14 people are in Niagara hospitals, six in the ICU. While three of the patients are double-vaxxed, none of them are in ICU.
