Niagara police have released a new image of a truck they believe to be involved in stabbing last Saturday.

A woman was stabbed near Eastwood Cr and Ontario Ave, a residential neighbourhood in Niagara Falls, shortly after 4 a.m. September 3.

Niagara Regional Police officers with 2 District, which patrols Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake, responded to the scene at 4:25. They found the victim suffering multiple stab wounds.

Niagara Emergency Medical Services rushed the victim to an out-of-town trauma centre for advanced care. She was later listed as in serious, but stable condition in which she remains.

Investigators later learned the victim met with a man, now a suspect, about 20 minutes prior to the stabbing near Falls Ave and Clifton Hill, home to Niagara Falls’ entertainment district.

The pair left Clifton Hill in the suspect’s red pickup truck. The two did not know each other personally prior to the attack, police said.

Niagara Police described the suspect as a white man around 40 years old with a medium build. He had brown hair and brown facial hair.

The investigators called all local businesses with security cameras to come forward with any footage of the area around the time the truck left. This effort seems to have proven fruitful as NRPS made an image of the suspect truck available days later.

Officers describe the truck as a 2017 or 2018 Dodge Ram Sport edition 4 door pick-up. It has is delmonico or velvet red paint job,, blacked out rims, a sunroof, dark tinted windows, signals at bottom of side view mirrors, matching painted door handles, bumpers and cross in grill, and a silver ram head on the tailgate.

The truck has neither running boards or a tonneau cover, but appears to have a bedliner. It appears to be clean and well kept.

Anyone with information about the truck’s whereabouts can call NRPS at Sep 6.905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009059.
