Niagara Police are still trying to piece together the cause of a serious single-car crash this morning (Oct. 10) in Pelham.

Landing at the scene on Victoria Ave. north of Sixteen Rd. at 9:50 a.m., Niagara EMS and the Pelham Fire Department were already treating a woman in her 20s for life-threatening injuries. She was quickly shuttled to an out-of-region hospital.

The Niagara Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene, getting an assist from the Forensic Services Unit to investigate the cause of the crash.

Victoria Ave. was closed between Sixteen Rd. and Twenty Mile Rd though it was expected to be reopened this afternoon.  The public had been asked to find alternative routes.
