Niagara Police seek to ID suspects in Thorold gas station robbery

Niagara Regional Police are looking to identify two suspects believed to have been involved in the armed robbery of a gas station in Thorold early Monday morning (Aug. 9).

Police said in a press release issued Monday afternoon that St. Catharines uniform officers responded to Gales Gas Bar located at 157 Collier Road South in Thorold for a report of an armed robbery.

Officers arrived on scene and determined that two men entered and robbed the gas station while brandishing a firearm.

The suspects fled the area on foot prior to officers’ arrival with an undisclosed amount of money and lottery tickets, the release said and no staff members or customers were physically injured during the robbery.

Detectives describe the suspects as follows:

Male
White
Medium build

Clothing description:

Grey baseball cap
Grey mask
Short sleeve button up shirt with red and blue stripes
Grey pants
Black and white Adidas running shoes

Suspect 2 is described as being:

Male
Medium build

Clothing description:

Black baseball cap with a red bandana underneath
Black bandana covering face
Long sleeve white shirt with blue stripes

Police are asking anyone who may have closed-circuit security cameras (residents or businesses), doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity between the period of 11:30 am on August 8, 2021, and 1:00 am on August 9, 2021.
