Niagara police search for hit and run driver who sent an e-bike rider to hospital

Niagara Regional Police are searching for a the driver behind a hit-and-run crash that sent an e-bike rider to hospital the other night.

On September 3, around 9:30 p.m. Niagara officers responded to a crash site in West Lincoln on Concession Rd 5 east of Burns Rd, a remote rural area about 20 minutes south of Grimsby.

On arrival the officers found a man who had been struck by a car while he rode along the shoulder of Concession Rd. Police concluded the e-bike rider was hit from behind.

The driver fled the scene and, according to NRPS, made no attempt to check on the rider’s well being. The rider suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to hospital.

Niagara Police does not have a description of the car that hit the rider or any description of who was behind the wheel. As result investigators are calling on any witness to the crash to come forward.
