A still-unidentified threat to a Niagara Catholic school that put all 56 of its schools on lock-and-secure status yesterday (June 19) came from outside the country, Niagara Police have discovered.

Police reported today (June 20) that after investigation, “the online threat originated from outside the country and is not credible.”

However, the police said the investigation will continue but that “at this time they do not have reason to believe that there is an on-going risk to the community.”

Anyone with further information is asked to contact detectives by calling (905) 688-4111, dial option 3, ext 1009318.

Below is a release issued late yesterday by the Niagara Catholic District School Board in which the Niagara Police first questioned the origin of the threat.
