Niagara Police and other agencies are looking for video footage of last week's explosion and fire at a local business to help with their investigations.

Niagara Police and several other agencies are looking for video footage from Port Weller residents that will help them piece together the cause of the explosion and fire in a northern St. Catharines neighbourhood last Thursday (January 12).

Just past 6:30 am, an explosion and subsequent fire torn through a hazardous waste facility at 20 Keefer Road, resulting in the death of one employee in his 30s.

Police are working with the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall, the St. Catharines Fire Service, the Ministry of Labour, and the Office of the Coroner to determine the cause of the blaze.

Say the Police, “Investigators are appealing to the public who may have video of the explosion and fire especially in its early stages.”

Members of the public are asked to contact detectives by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009964.
